Prescription Drug Drop-Off

The Brown County Sheriff's Office offers county residents the opportunity to properly discard prescription drugs at their office, 2464 Development Drive in Bellevue. Drop-off times are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00pm. Special drop-off events are also held occasionally and will be promoted through the Village website and e-news.

Accepted materials include pills, liquids, salves, powders, inhalers and pet meds. No sharps or biological material. Collections are for Brown County Residents only and offered at no cost to participants.

Waste pharmaceuticals are a far reaching issue. These unused drugs present opportunities for environmental contamination, drug abuse and accidental poisonings. Proper disposal through collection events is necessary to insure the drugs are completely destroyed by incineration. Taking the easy way out and simply throwing your unused medications in the trash or flushing down the drain can lead to significant environmental problems.
