Project Overview
The Brown County Board formally approved reconstructing Highway GV on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Construction of a roundabout in the Town of Ledgeview at the intersection of County GV and G was completed in September 2011. Bridges, culverts and the roadway will be constructed in 2012.
The four-lane highway will include a 150-foot right-of-way, 20-foot medians, bike lanes and an 8' wide side-path. The project will also include swales that will help in storm water runoff.
The county highway department is finishing engineering plans, acquiring right-of-way land and permitting. Below is the County's preliminary reconstruction schedule:
- Permitting and Bidding Structures January - April 2012
- Structure and Offline road construction August 2012
- Mainline road completion November 2012
The road will remain open to local traffic at 25 mph with a signed detour posted.

Construction Update Meetings
The Brown County Highway Department will begin hosting bi-weekly construction meetings with property owners and contractors on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 9 am beginning on April 10th.
Meetings will be held in the Target Communtiy Room at the Sheriff's Department located on Development Drive.
